Conducted by Jayang Jhaveri, this workshop introduced university students of music to the fundamentals of Hindustani music from an aesthetic (rather than a purely technical) point of view. Important facets of Hindustani music were brought to life through video and audio clips and live singing. The workshop was followed by a vocal Khayal performance by student Freya Mignon accompanied by Arup Guha on tabla. The workshop was sponsored by the Chellaram Foundation and Mrs. Purviz Shroff and the late Mr. Rusy Shroff.
